egg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.
just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!
we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.
If the food or service is really bad, I'll then tip 10%, but not without making the observation to the manager or person in charge. I've gone as fas as putting it in writing, with the name of the waiter if that's the problem or the date and time of my visit in case the cook is the problem. To my surprise I've gotten replies with apologies and coupons to return.
People that wait tables live on tips, so I'll tip even when the service is less than expected.

and how far apart were they?.
thanks.
Never fell in love during my school years as I really concentrated in the secular curriculum, you know, the real purpose of school. While in college experienced the so-called "first love", then many years later fell in love with the man that is now my husband; still very much in love with him.
Even more strange is that the love I feel now is much stronger than that first love or any other infatuations along the way. I feel really blessed in this regard.

Many in my Hispanic fellow community need help desperately in this regard; they're horrible non-tippers (for the most part). It's caused largely due to the culture in many of our countries of origin where tipping just doesn't exist.
I know that in our Spanish congregations there's usually a big article on tipping whenever assembly time rolls around, in order to educate us all in the importance of tipping. I make up for it by leaving 20% tip in most cases, also by educating my fellow hispanics whenever I get a chance about tipping practices here in the USA.

he had relationship with a female jw of the same congo.now that they are both df'ed they are gonna get married and then get reinstated.his ex-wife will have to see the new happy family 2 times every week at the meetings.sweet.
.
p.s:this is a classic one.
This is a horrible situation for the innocent in the marriage. Sure puts to the test the trust in Jehovah.
Wow. I personally hope these two do not get reinstated for a long, long, long time, and that family and all really show them the non-treatment disfellowshipped people should get.
Sincerely sorry to hear about this.

geez- does gossip spread in j dub land.
last night when i got home there was a message from a jw friend asking me to call her.
well, i did and she had heard that i had moved in with a "worldly" person and asked me how i was, etc... i asked her where she had heard that and she told me so&so told her.
No, no "fine art" just for JWs. Gossip happens all over, but it's more noticeable for us in the case of JWs because it's the community we interact with the most; it's also the group of people we love to complaint about the most.
The non-believers I work with are the gossipiest group, and horrible/malignant gossip at that, I've ever interacted with; sure put my JW peers to shame when it comes to gossip!
The meetings/assemblies help a bit in curtailing that common human tendency, though. Provided we practice what's taught there, of course.

I understand your gripe; however, it has nothing to do with being a JW or not but rather with the imperfect condition of us all as humans.
Unless you're no longer committed to staying a JW in good standing, close ties with non-believers is a big "no-no".

is it true?!!!
extremely curious about it.
who'll be the watch person then?!
The Organization has come up with some pretty innovative ways of saving a buck, but definitely I don't see them doing away with the CO arrangement. It's too vital a piece for the smooth running of the whole religious empire.
I'd love to see them get a part-time gig, though, so that they understand the real world and make a contribution to it. I hear they're quite the stiff load on the congregations. Actually, I know for a fact as I've seen the various receipts they turn in to the guy that keeps the accounting in the congregation (such guys have been different within my family). I know first hand they could certainly cut down on their expensive way of living at the expense of us the working class in the cong.
Part-time jobs for them!

Logistically speaking, it just cannot end! The COs make sure all is in agreement and perfect alignment with the greater Organization!
No way can it end!!! I believe that move could be disastrous for the unity of the Organization as a whole. Just can't believe that one!
